NovelistAI is operated by AI4Projects OÜ, a private limited company registered in Estonia under registry code 17445999, with its registered office at Lõõtsa tn 5, Lasnamäe linnaosa, 11415 Tallinn, Estonia. You can reach us at [email protected].

Thank you for choosing NovelistAI, a platform for writing stories, novels and interactive books with the help of artificial intelligence. These terms of service ("Terms") are a legally binding agreement between you and AI4Projects OÜ. By using our website you confirm that you have read and accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use NovelistAI.

NovelistAI is for both personal and commercial use. You may use the website and its contents for any lawful purpose, subject to these Terms.

You must be at least 13 years old to use our services. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has given you permission.

You own what you write. Your prompts, your edits and the ideas you bring are yours. We claim no ownership of the books you make here, and we will never sell or republish your work. You give us only the permission we need to run the service: to store your content, send it to the AI provider you choose so it can be generated, and display it to you — and to show it publicly only if you choose to publish it to our library.

We should be straightforward about copyright. In many countries, including the European Union and the United States, material generated by artificial intelligence without meaningful human authorship may not attract copyright protection at all. That is a question of law rather than something our Terms can decide, and it is not a right we are able to grant you. The more of your own writing, editing and judgement goes into a book, the stronger your position is likely to be.

Voices. If you upload a recording to create a custom narrator, it must be your own voice, or a voice you have the speaker's documented permission to use. Do not upload the voice of a public figure, a performer, or anyone who has not agreed. We remove cloned voices of identifiable people when they are reported to us, and we may close the account that uploaded them.

You are responsible for making sure your use of NovelistAI does not infringe anyone else's rights or break the law.

Content produced by NovelistAI is generated automatically and may contain inaccuracies, invented facts or material that does not reflect the real world. You are responsible for reviewing and editing what you generate, and for deciding how to use it — including making sure it is lawful and suitable for your audience.

We mark what you export as AI-generated, in line with Article 50 of the EU AI Act: the export itself tells you so, and PDF, EPUB, audio and image files additionally carry a marker in their metadata. Plain-text files have no metadata to carry one. Please do not remove that marking or present AI-generated work as something a person wrote unaided.

You agree not to use the service to generate unlawful material, content that infringes someone else's rights, or content designed to deceive or harm others.

We offer monthly and yearly subscription plans, and one-time credit packages. Prices are shown before you pay, and payment is handled by Stripe — we never see or store your card details.

Your right to change your mind (14 days). If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have 14 days from the day you buy to withdraw from the purchase, without giving a reason. To do so, just email [email protected] within those 14 days.

What you get back depends on what you have used:

• Subscriptions — we refund what you paid, less a fair amount for the part of the period you have already had and for any credits you have already spent.
• Credit packages — we refund every credit you have not yet spent. For credits already used to generate text, images or audio we deduct their value, because the work has been done and we have paid the AI provider for it.

Refunds go back to the card you paid with, within 14 days of us receiving your request. Outside the 14-day window we are not obliged to refund, but do write to us if something has gone wrong — we would rather hear about it.

Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account; cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep your plan until the end of the period you have paid for.

If you believe a book in our public library is unlawful — for example it infringes copyright, defames someone, or contains illegal material — please email [email protected] with a link to the book and an explanation of the problem. Include a way to contact you so we can tell you what we decided.

We look at every report. Where content breaks the law or these Terms we remove or restrict it, and we tell both the person who reported it and the author what we decided and why. If you are the author and believe we got it wrong, reply to us and we will look again.

The NovelistAI website itself — our name, logo, design, software and the systems behind the service — belongs to AI4Projects OÜ and is protected by copyright and trade mark law. You may not copy, modify, redistribute or build derivative works from it without our permission.

This does not apply to your books. Nothing in this section gives us any claim over the content you create on NovelistAI; that is covered by "Your Content and Your Books" above, and your work remains yours.

We work to keep NovelistAI available and working properly, but we cannot promise the service will never be interrupted, delayed or affected by faults — including problems at the third-party AI providers we rely on. Features may change as models and providers change.

If you are a consumer, nothing here affects your statutory rights. You are entitled to a service that matches its description and works as it should, and we remain responsible under consumer law if it does not.

We are responsible for loss we cause by failing to meet our obligations under these Terms, where that loss is a foreseeable result of our failure. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, for example business losses, lost profits or lost opportunities if you use NovelistAI for commercial purposes.

We never exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for anything caused intentionally or through gross negligence, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.

Where our liability can lawfully be limited, it is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

If you use NovelistAI unlawfully, or in breach of these Terms, and a third party brings a claim against us as a direct result, you agree to cover the reasonable costs we incur. This applies only to claims caused by your own breach or unlawful use, and only to the extent the law allows — it does not apply to ordinary use of the service as intended.

We may suspend or close your account if you break these Terms, use the service unlawfully, or try to compromise the platform or other users.

Except where the law requires us to act immediately, we will tell you what we have done and why, and you can reply to contest it — we will look at it again properly. Closing your account does not affect files you have already exported or downloaded.

You can close your own account at any time from your account settings. What happens to your data afterwards is described in our Privacy Policy.

We may update these Terms, for example when we add features or when the law changes. If a change materially affects your rights, we will tell you in advance — by email or a notice in the product — and give you a reasonable period to review it. If you do not accept the change you can close your account before it takes effect, and we will refund any unused part of a subscription you have already paid for.

Minor changes, such as clarifications or corrections, take effect when posted here. The date at the top of this page always shows when the Terms were last updated.

How we handle your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect, why, who processes it, how long we keep it and how to exercise your rights.

We rely on this agreement with you as the legal basis for the processing we need to run the service, and on your consent only where the Privacy Policy says so — for example analytics cookies. Using the service is not treated as consent to anything beyond what that policy describes.

If any part of these Terms turns out to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest continues to apply, and the invalid part is replaced by the closest valid equivalent. Together with our Privacy Policy, these Terms are the entire agreement between you and AI4Projects OÜ regarding NovelistAI. This does not limit our responsibility for anything we have told you about the service that you relied on in deciding to use it.

These Terms, and any dispute arising from your use of NovelistAI, are governed by the laws of Estonia.

If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of your own country's mandatory consumer law, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live. If we cannot settle a dispute between us, you may refer it to the Consumer Disputes Committee at the Estonian Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority (ttja.ee), free of charge, or to an alternative dispute resolution body in your own country. We would always rather you wrote to us first.
